Scottie Pippen Is Launching His Own Sneaker NFT Collection
Web3 has slowly begun to form a sneaker culture of its own, with big brands the likes of adidas and Nike having recently entered the space with their very own projects.
Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, too, is crafting an NFT collection of his own, one complete with both digital and physical sneakers alike.
The brainchild of Orange Comet and Pippen himself, the SP33 NFT project is comprised of 1000 unique digital sneakers. An homage to the athlete’s career, from his early years to his time with the Chicago Bulls, the collection’s various designs fall under four different pillars: “Modern Day,” “Futurist,” “Transcendent,” and “Planetary.” Each pair, regardless of classification, will feature 3D animations and can be worn virtually across “just about any ecosystem.”
In addition, 33 lucky NFT holders — an homage to Pippen’s number “33” jersey, which was retired by the Chicago Bulls — will be randomly selected to receive a physical, autographed version of the sneaker. According to Orange Comet, this small sum will act as a prototype for future releases. These pairs will also be accompanied by a “Mystery Box,” holders of which are in store for “something special.”
Allowlist registration for Scottie Pippen’s SP33 NFT collection is now live and will close on December 15th; the official Mint is scheduled to follow on December 20th. For more details, head over to OrangeComet.com.
